Village Name: Lozen Population: 430 Amenities: 2 shops and bars, restaurant, post office, primary school, children’s park. Other: 20km to the Greek border and 25km to the Turkish border. All around are rolling hills, incredible mountain views, vineyards, many lakes and the Maritza River. House: The house consists of 4 large rooms and a hallway. Then there's 2 rooms on the side with their own separate entrance. Garden: A good sized garden with barns, an outside toilet, a huge walnut tree as well as fruit trees and a water well. It's an amazing opportunity to create a beautiful home! With an asking price of just 5000lv you can own a property, land and barns in a beautiful village known for its wine production, near the base of the Rhodope Mountains. Unfortunately the house has been left empty for a very long while and small drips in the roof can create movement over time which has unfortunately lead to a small patch of the roof falling in near the entrance then causing the wall to partially collapse. Most of the properties in this village are made with local mud bricks, built on a solid granite foundation. It is an incredibly strong building material and will last for ever if kept dry. That means keeping the roof water tight and keeping on top of rendering and painting the outside. Most of the walls are around 60cm thick and they are well known for keeping cool in the summer and warm in the winter. This house could do with most if not all of the roof rebuilding, however you could reuse many of the materials and old tiles. The entrance way area needs to be rebuilt. With some new doors and windows, guttering and drainage, as well as rendering, pretty quickly you can have a solid and sound house ready for internal restoration. Alternatively, the house can be knocked down and rebuilt to the same specifications without problem. The neighbours have used the house, garden and water well for their pets, but she was a very friendly old lady and very welcoming to the idea of someone buying it.
