A beautiful and traditional Bulgaria village house close to the Greek border and the Rhodope Mountains. This south facing, fully renovated property boasts large light filled rooms, huge barns, a private walled garden and heaps of character throughout. Village Name: Lozen Population: 430 Amenities: 2 shops and bars, restaurant, post office, primary school, children’s park. Other: 20km to the Greek border and 25km to the Turkish border. The house and barns are all built with kerapitch, which is a traditional mud brick. The walls are 70cm thick and it’s an incredibly strong building material when kept rendered. The house was restored by an English family many years ago but hasn’t been used for over 4 years. This means that there is now a small list of repairs and maintenance needed, hence the price. The largest three jobs being a large mulberry tree that’s rotten and starting to fall on the gate, rendering of the barns and also a small rising damp problem in some of the downstairs rooms. The mayor is young and takes much pride in the village, which is only 6km to the nearest town called Lyubimets, and just 22km to Svilengrad. There you’ll find supermarkets, building supplies, hotels, restaurants, schools, cafes, shops, cinema, swimming pools, hospitals, train stations, bus stations, sports facilities and local markets.
